Last updated: 10 October 2026
This is a short summary. The English text below is the binding version.
1. From winning to driving (or towing) away
- 1Call the Insurer’s contact shown on your win screen and agree the payment method.
- 2Pay the full vehicle price directly to the Insurer’s official account within 72 hours of the Insurer approving your bid. Keep the payment proof.
- 3The Insurer confirms your payment on Bids9; you are notified and the sale shows as paid.
- 4Agree a pickup time with the yard and collect the vehicle within 7 days[To confirm] of the Insurer confirming payment.
2. What to bring
- Your original Aadhaar (the name must match your verified account) (whether an authorised representative may collect, with an authority letter)[To confirm].
- Proof of payment to the Insurer.
- The sale summary from your win screen (PDF).
- A tow vehicle or transporter if the vehicle does not run — loading and transport are at your cost and risk.
3. Documents you should receive
- Sale letter / delivery order and invoice from the Insurer.
- Registration Certificate (RC), where available — the listing shows whether the RC is original, duplicate or missing.
- Form 28 (NOC), Form 29 (notice of transfer) and Form 30 (application for transfer), signed as required.
- NOC from the financier where the vehicle was hypothecated.
- Any other document the listing states (document set per Insurer)[To confirm].
Check the vehicle’s chassis and engine numbers against the documents before you leave the yard.
4. Transfer of ownership
Registering the transfer of ownership at the RTO within the time limits of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Section 50) and state rules (exact periods)[To confirm] is the buyer’s responsibility, together with any fees, taxes, fitness or re-registration requirements. Bids9 does not handle RTO work.
5. Scrap-only (RVSF) vehicles
Vehicles marked "Scrap only" cannot return to the road. They may be bought only for dismantling and must be delivered to a Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility under the Motor Vehicles (Registration and Functions of Vehicle Scrapping Facility) Rules, 2021 (whether the buyer must itself be an RVSF, and the Certificate of Deposit process)[To confirm].
6. Risk and storage
The vehicle stays at the Insurer’s risk at its yard until handed over to you; from handover it is at your risk. If you do not collect within the pickup window, the yard may charge storage (rates)[To confirm] and the Insurer may treat the sale as abandoned under its terms.
7. If something is wrong
If the vehicle or documents differ materially from the listing, do not take delivery; tell the Insurer and Bids9 at once through Grievance Redressal with photos. We will share the listing record and survey report to help resolve it with the Insurer.
